Important Care & Finishing Guidelines

Pro Tip for Longevity: Wood is a living material that reacts to atmospheric moisture. To maintain structural stability and prevent bowing or warping, all surfaces and edges (top, bottom, and sides) must be sealed within 48 hours of unpacking.

1. Unpacking: Keep stored flat in a climate-controlled room prior to installation.

2. Finishing:

   • For Food Prep Areas: Apply 3–4 coats of food-safe mineral oil or butcher block conditioner.

   • For Desks & Tables: Apply a poly or varnish sealant to protect against spills and everyday wear.

3. Natural Wood Character: As a natural hardwood product, individual panels exhibit unique grain variations and light-to-dark color shifts. The underside (B-face) may contain allowable natural wood character lines or minor surface characteristics typical of authentic lumber.

FAQ: Can I order a custom size?

ANSWER: Yes! Simply order the next bigger standard item and request it to be cut to your custom size. In case of 32" x 68" (for instance), you would order size 36" x 72" and ask it to be cut to 32" x 68" size.

Please note that custom orders are not returnable for refund or credit unless they are delivered in damaged condition. In which case we will gladly send you a replacement.

We do our best to match the standard dimensions stated in the listings, and when custom cuts are requested, but the net/actual size received may deviate up to +/-  1/8” in  length or width and this will not be grounds for return or refund. Also, because wood is organic material, it will start adjusting to the surrounding humidity immediately. Our advice is store the item and open the box in the same room where it will be installed. Please do not leave the box outside! 

Please note that all of our table tops have natural variations in color due to the unique qualities of wood, and may have thicker or thinner lamella strips than the listing image depending on current stock. No two pieces are identical and the listing images are provided as general examples only.
